Requested user-rights: Administrator and Translation administrator.

I would like to be an administrator and translation administrator to release translations and block vandals... I could also delete, restrict or unrestrict pages if necessary...

Generally I only support adminship for people who are spending a lot of time vandal fighting, or otherwise seem like they are being held up by not having admin rights. That is, have demonstrated some need. As far as I can tell, that's not an area you've been working in. Which is totally cool. Oppose translationadmin, as MediaWiki.org doesn't need more translation admins and in any case m:Meta:Requests for translation adminship/Justman10000 does not inspire confidence. Oppose sysop too, on the grounds that one should know how a wiki's user-right-request process works and not need to have someone else transclude your request before requesting rights (and sysop is a superset of translationadmin anyway). * Pppery * _{it has begun} 00:28, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose for sysop---don't see any evidence/history of activities that would suggest a need. weak for t-admin---you've done lots of translations, which is great and appreciated, but the case for needing additional rights for that is weak/unclear. --Clump (talk) 23:02, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

So, I have thought about the following... Since especially @Shirayuki and @Taavi are so worried... For fun I had created a local MediaWiki instance on a local VM... There I could experiment with the markup of the translations, before I transfer it here... Would be okay? It is ok to do anything you want to your own system, so I assume you are asking whether this changes anyone's mind on translation admin rights. Being capable is important, but so is providing a valid justification. Feel free to address the former, but the latter does not seem to exist, and a continuing campaign to acquire extra rights for no clear reason comes across as hat collecting, and hurts your case more than it helps. --Clump (talk) 16:07, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What I meant is that I could get the rights here and experiment a bit on my local instance.... Then I could transfer it to MediaWiki....

@Shirayuki has said that I sometimes mess up the markup.... Well, that wouldn't be anymore... Especially since I've had some experience, as mentioned before....

The thing is, I wouldn't have to wait for someone to release my changes for translation, because at some point I don't feel like it either!

Hi, I'm the author of the Extension:AccessControl, which you translate in last time into German – thank you about it! And I also have the rights to mark pages for translation, but I don't usually mark pages with my own changes. You can prepare page to mark, it's no problem, but marking is not only question experiences. I prepared in my wiki a more than thousand pages for translate. Have I gladly translated 🙂! But I would be happy about a support, as I mentioned before, otherwise just lacks motivation! And let's be honest.... So, again, to summarize...

- @Shirayuki gladly resets my edits, because I should respect already existing translations.... However, as already mentioned, NO edits should then be made, which is simply impossible! In principle, a translator must expect that his translations become obsolete! Moreover, one can learn that with the markup! Which is already the case for me for the most part
- @* Pppery * meant that I should know how to make requests for rights correctly here.... But why? What does that have to do with a translation administrator? Besides, it's to forget such things even if one knows them!
- @Taavi still has not answered my question! What technical processes?
