Példa
Egy lap védelme többlépéses folyamat:
- Jelentkezz be a API:Login lapon szereplő módszerek egyikével.
- Szerezz CSRF-tokent. A token minden lapra azonos, de minden bejelentkezéskor megváltozik.
- POST-kérés küldése a CSRF-tokennel a lap védelme érdekében.
Az alábbi mintakód a harmadik lépést írja le részletesen.
POST-kérés
A Kezdőlap örökre szóló védelme, hogy csak automatikusan megerősített szerkesztők szerkeszthessék, és csak adminisztrátorok nevezhessék át.

Lehetséges hibák
A standard hibaüzeneteken kívül:

| noprotections | The protections parameter must be set. |

protectjogosultság szükséges. - MediaWiki 1.19-es és korábbi verzióknál a védelmi tokent az API:Info lapot követve szerezheted meg.
