Gray or pale colours

I like the ability to add colours to certain criteria, but I would also like colours that does the opposite of highlighting: maybe colouring the text gray or in pastel colours. I would for instance use it for bot edits, or maybe even my own edits. I might still want to see them, but not as much.

Are you familiar with CSS?

If so, you can use the classes defined for each type of edits to custom your interface. For instance, to have edits made by you being pale grey, you can add .mw-rcfilters-enabled li.mw-changeslist-self, .mw-rcfilters-enabled li.mw-changeslist-self a {color:#CCC;} to your common.css.

For bots, use .mw-changeslist-botinstead of .mw-changeslist-self.

Oh great, I didn’t realise criterias had different classes applied to them! I will do that, thanks for the idea :)

In the meantime, I do think it might be a nice feature for all users to have, getting a subduing colour feature along with the highlighting colour feature.

De rien for the CSS trick. Mediawiki features usually have well defined classes to allow these kind of customisations.

What would be the use case to have a faded color available? At the moment, people can add or remove a type of edits using the filters. They can easily switch between a view with bots or one without bots. If one needs to to this often, they can bookmark their favorite combinations.

The goal of the filters is not to have all edits displayed, and then use the colors with one color for your edits, one color for everyone else, one color for bots, one color for edits made on Project namespace... Colors are used when you have multiple types of edits that need to be differentiated within the same filtering cluster. If you don't want to display your edits and bot edits, you can easily remove them.

You can also use Deluxehistory, available in your preferences (Gadget tab) on French Wikipedia. This gadget will provide an highlight for edits (on Recent changes, Watchlist, history pages...) that will identify your edits, bot edits, IP edits... It is compatible with the filters highlights, that will change the color if needed.
