Please try changing the title of the translation to "User:Tom790/The article title", and then publishing.
Then check that the published article looks OK. If needed, make the required fixes. Once it looks good, use the Move function to move it out of being a draft.
I have the some problem. Ho do I change the title of the article? My article seems to be ok, but it shows the same error. Any ideas?
You can not publish translations directly to main space. Notice in above advice this part: "User:username/sometitle" - create draft in userspace, check translation is goot and then - move it to main space.
