Need a way to insert arbitrary symbols, esp. RLM mark

If you want to insert the explicit RLM, and you are using a Hebrew keyboard on Windows 8 or a recent version of desktop GNU/Linux, you can type Alt-0 (mnemonic: right bracket, like right-to-left mark). On a Mac it's not yet possible, I hope that Apple will adopt the standard keyboard some time soon (and yes, I know that you probably don't use a Mac ;) ).

If you want to use the {{כ}} template arbitrarily, it's not yet possible. What a lot of people do is type {{כ}}, get it inserted into <nowiki>, and then remove the <nowiki> tag. It's silly, but works. Hopefully inserting arbitrary templates will be possible some time in 2016 (not yet scheduled).
