Project:Requests/User rights/IFried (WMF)

From mediawiki.org

User: IFried (WMF)[edit]

Requested user-rights: Translation administrator.

I add Help pages for work done by the Campaigns product team. I would like translation admin rights, so I can mark these pages for translation.

Is there some reason you need to mark the pages for translation yourself and can't just let Shirayuki do it? * Pppery * it has begun 22:26, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@IFried (WMF): If you are requesting rights that are needed for your job, I don't think this is the right place for it. Per eg Project:Requests/User rights/HLepp (WMF) there appears to be some dedicated process for requesting rights for staff accounts within the WMF. --DannyS712 (talk) 01:31, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, WMF-specific process is definitely preferred. See [1] [restricted access] for the procedure. --Martin Urbanec (talk) 09:01, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I asked Ilana to create this request because she urgently (I believe) needed to mark a page for translation. I was under the impression that I could add her to the translation admin group and wanted to have a public record of the request that I could link to. I then realized that I could only add myself to the group and not others, and thus couldn't fullfil this request. Apologies if this has caused any confusion. --Daimona Eaytoy (talk) 14:27, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have received the rights via the WMF process, so the issue is taken care of. Apologies for any confusion. Thanks! --IFried (WMF) (talk) 19:47, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

N Not done per above --Zabe (talk) 23:04, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
