Dear Risker, Welcome to MediaWiki.org!

Yes, welcome! This site is dedicated to documenting the MediaWiki software, the software behind many wikis, including that of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation projects.
Please, take a look at the following pages. They might prove useful to you as a newcomer here:

If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and find this site useful documentation of the MediaWiki software.

Thanks, and regards, --MZMcBride (talk) 02:15, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

New features not accounting for important older features[edit]

I thought you might be amused by gerrit:63572 and the related issue. Perhaps we should start a list of every new feature that doesn't account for revision suppression or CheckUser or whatever else. ;-)

The talking point here is that developers need to use and rely on public APIs for sanity checks like this. --MZMcBride (talk) 02:37, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

See now, if I'd had a DIFF of the change to my talk page, I would have immediately been brought to this wiki instead of assuming that it was an enwiki message. And yeah. A long time ago, there was a promise from the developers that NO new feature would go live until we sorted out the oversight/suppression issue. That's not really happening, either. Requests for comment/Password requirements[edit]

Hi, Requests for comment/Password requirements is being considered as one of the RFCs to be discussed at the RFC review on 2013-11-06 via IRC. You are receiving this notification because you edited or discussed this RFC. We hope to see you there.--Qgil (talk) 01:29, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

SUL_finalisation#Project_Duration[edit]

Seems to disagree with you on what's the bulk of the work. You may want to comment there, mailing list posts get lost. --Nemo 07:47, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Ping[edit]

Could you take a look at Talk pages consultation 2019/Discussion tools in the past some time, and tell me what I've missed? I'm hoping to get back to it in the next couple of days. Also, if you've got ideas about who else to ask from back in the day, please either pass the link along or let me know who else I could be talking to.
