It seems that the beta function omits the signature button on article and user talk pages on de:wp. I would like to see it back ;-)

The signature is in the "Insert" menu, about four items from the end.
What benefit does that have? Instead of just klicking the signature-button, I have to klick "Insert", then "more", and then the signature button. I don't understand the reason, it is less usable like that.
The theory seems to be that all the buttons will always be in the same place. Wikipedians probably don't want a signature button prominently displayed to people who are writing articles.
You might also be interested in the Talk pages project/replying tool, which automatically adds the signature for you.
Huh, I'm an active Wikipedian since 2006 and I have always found the advantages of a prominently placed signature button greatly outweigh its disadvantages. Just my two cents.
Sure, but even if we did so, the toolbar is full (in fact, already has if anything too many buttons, per testing). So, which button do you propose removing so that we could add signature to the primary toolbar?

Ne serait-ce pas plus simple de faire une barre d'outil légèrement différente quand on est sur un espace de discussion où là, le bouton « Sourcer » ("Cite" en anglais) ne sert à rien car on n'insère presque jamais de références en discussion ?

@Whatamidoing (WMF) En tous cas, il me semble que signer un message se fait à chaque fois tandis qu'insérer une référence ne se fait que de temps à autre (et on peut mettre le bouton Sourcer à la place du bouton actuel pour signer donc dans "Insérer".
C'est ce qui se fait déjà avec le vieil éditeur de wikicode actuel (le bouton signer apparaît à la place de sourcer en pdd), donc ça me paraît logique de faire pareil ici.
