Help about advanced search in Phabricator

Hello,

The help now says this about the advanced search in Phabricator:

“It's sometimes possible to specify whether an individual search criterion in a field should be OR, AND or AND NOT, via the autocompletion dropdown.”

Written by Nemo bis, I think.

  1. What does “dropdown” mean here?
  2. For me, auto-completion never proposes to specify OR, AND, AND NOT. Is there something wrong?

Thank you for your help!

OK, I see. That helps a bit, thank you Quiddity. :-) I have played with the second search form. For instance, I have placed four boxes in the field Projects : "In Any: Echo", "In Any: Easy", "Mobile", "In Any: Accessibilty". I guess that this searches for elements in Mobile and [being in Echo or in Easy or in Accessibility]. This is not very clear. I will slightly edit the help. Feel free to improve it further by adding an explanation or an example.

Cheers,

Nnemo

Did the search system change a week or so ago? I used to have it set up to show only tasks (by default) when I searched for something, and now it's giving me everything again, and the previous tick-boxes (where I un-checked "commits") have been replaced by text field.

Yes, they updated to a newer version of Phabricator on May 7. I believe you'll need to save new personalized searches. See Phabricator/Maintenance for details on the updates, and section 6 at Phabricator/Help for some notes on custom searches and defaults (recently updated by Nemo and others :)
