For now this is only the release candidate, it will be updated to 1.13 when 1.13.0 will be released. iAlex 18:13, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

was using this for semi automatic update script[edit]

since this is "Lua powered" the RAW output doesn't include the actual stable branch number anymore, therefor my script is failing to fetch it. Any ideas/sources where to get the current stable branch number (or the a "latest" download link?)

You can use the expandtemplates API module to get the raw number: [1]. Legoktm (talk) 02:31, 21 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Make substitutable[edit]

{{editprotected}}

Please replace the content of this template with

{{<includeonly>safesubst:</includeonly>#invoke:Version|get|stable|branch}}<noinclude>{{documentation}}</noinclude>

This makes it possible to use this template as {{subst:MW stable branch number}}, which would be useful e.g. in the autovalue of {{Bundled }}’s first parameter (the autovalue makes sense only with substituting, otherwise it could be just a default value built in the template). It also loads documentation from the documentation subpage. Thanks in advance! —Tacsipacsi (talk) 20:00, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Done, thank you! Majavah (talk!) 20:23, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Should this be done for all of these templates? There are ~35. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 20:24, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
It wouldn’t hurt for other version numbers either, but I’m not sure if there are valid use cases for them, so it may be waste of effort. (For URLs, however, it makes no sense; if someone wanted to substitute around them, they should substitute the version number and use a template that takes that as a parameter, so that no URLs are burnt in and need to be replaced by bot if e.g. we migrate from Gerrit+GitHub to GitLab.) —Tacsipacsi (talk) 23:13, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
I mean, it makes about as much sense as any other uses of subst… Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 17:34, 1 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
