I need to permanently store test case media files for Extension:TimedMediaHandler; being able to "run tests in production" by uploading the files directly into our MediaWiki instance is nice because it's 1) permanent (bus factor protection) 2) doesn't clutter up git with a couple gigabytes of media files and 3) can be directly cross-linked with the extension pages and easily used as a data source for offline testing. Note I don't want to put them on Commons because they're not meant for reuse; while freely licensed it's just a gurgling fountain in various sizes and formats and not really exciting. They might get deleted from there, defeating the purpose of making them available on our server infrastructure in a permanent place. --Brion Vibber (WMF) (talk) 20:38, 16 August 2023 (UTC)
