multi user access conflicts to sand box

Hi all, in my leftside bar I see Sandbox link leading to -> https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Project:Sandbox

If I open the page I see a history which involves several users. Does that means everyone is working in the same 'buffer' (...?). I think if two users try to access the sandbox with different texts and publish, there should be editions conflicts signalled (never seen that).

question 1: May one user interact delete/remplace the contents of another ? how protection is managed ?

question 2: how to preserve his own source when a translation admin wants to set for translation his page being in sandbox ?

Project:Sandbox is just a normal page, which is indeed shared by everyone. It is not related to this extension, which adds a link to Special:MyPage/sandbox to your user menu on top-right (it's not enabled on this wiki).
