mw is a MediaWiki / Wikimedia command line tool targeting developers. It currently brings a development environment support for mediawiki-docker, and a new environment modeled after mediawiki-docker-dev.

Installation[edit]

Only development builds by Addshore are currently available.

In the future binaries will be available on releases.wikimedia.org

To install & update to the latest build by Addshore on linux, try the following:

sudo wget -O /usr/bin/mw https://github.com/addshore/mwcli/releases/download/v0.1.0-dev-addshore.20210523.1/mw_v0.1.0_linux_amd64
sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/mw
sudo mw update

For other OSs and CPU architectures, you'll need to download the right binary from the releases page.

Overview[edit]

Some commands have their own documentation pages:

  • docker - The MediaWiki-Docker development environment
  • mwdd - The MediaWiki-Docker-Dev like development environment
  • update - Checks for and performs updates
  • version - Output the version information
$ mw
Developer utilities for working with MediaWiki

Usage:
  mw [command]

Available Commands:
  docker      The MediaWiki-Docker development environment
  help        Help about any command
  mwdd        The MediaWiki-Docker-Dev like development environment
  update      Checks for and performs updates
  version     Output the version infomation

Flags:
  -h, --help   help for mw

Use "mw [command] --help" for more information about a command.
