The Google Code-in student is encouraged to use creative search methods and parameters to help compile a list of active MediaWiki third party customers by searching public available sources for MediaWiki sites not currently listed on WikiApiary.
The student is expected to check these discovered sites against WikiApiary's database for duplication using the following steps.
- Go to WikiApiary and click "Do a search" under" link under "How to add your wiki?"
- Once you are on the Special page, type the host name of the wiki in the search bar. For example: wikiapiary.com.
- If the search results come back as "There were no results matching the query", then check against the following Google spreadsheet of defunct wikis https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IQ0e7s99P5KSL-8qLesV3JKQo6wXk0eeACOoGyeHCe4/edit?usp=sharing.
- If the site is listed on the provided defunct list, then do no record the site on this page.
- If the site cannot be located in WikiApiary and the defunct list, then please add the site's information on the wiki page link next to your name in the box below.
- If the search results come back with page matches, then that indicates that the site is currently known. Do no record the site on this page.
