HHVM Infobox übersetzbar?

[edit]

Hallo Steinsplitter!

Ist es möglich, dass die Felder der Infobox HHVM auf dieser Seite ebenfalls übersetzt werden können?

Grüße Florian Florianschmidtwelzow (talk) 21:56, 25 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Ja - Habe Template:Wikimedia engineering project information HHVM angelegt. lg Steinsplitter (talk) 05:39, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Top, danke :) Florianschmidtwelzow (talk) 07:17, 26 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hallo; Translating the infobox on HHVM/About is fine, however I had to undo this change on HHVM because it broke all the pages that transclude the HHVM page (like Wikimedia Engineering, Wikimedia Platform Engineering and all the engineering reports that refer to HHVM). guillom (talk) 11:02, 29 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Ooops :(, sorry. Thanke you! Steinsplitter (talk) 16:22, 29 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pywikibot page for translation

[edit]

Could you mark Manual:Pywikibot/Windows and Manual:Pywikibot/pagegenerators.py for translation, please? John Vandenberg (talk) 06:32, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I would also like to help with the migration of pywikibot pages to the new translation system. e.g. Manual:Pywikibot/Global Options, Manual:Pywikibot/user-config.py and Manual:Pywikibot/pagefromfile.py. How do I do that? John Vandenberg (talk) 06:35, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
user:Fabsouza1 has marked Manual:Pywikibot/Windows and Manual:Pywikibot/pagegenerators.py for translation, so I guess that translation admins automatically find these pages when translation tags are added to them. yay.
However pywikobot has lots of pages which have translations using the old system, and the help pages have scary warnings about those, so I dont feel comfortable touching them without some guidance. John Vandenberg (talk) 14:09, 2 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Gadget Import

[edit]

On https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-botRollback.js you import a javascript page, but have the file type set as css instead of javascript. TerraCodes (talk) 12:54, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. Thanks for reporting. Steinsplitter (talk) 14:48, 28 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speravir (talk) 03:45, 27 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Help with Vandalism cleanup

[edit]

can you revert some of the page moves by User:Elitenova? He had moved a few pages as well as move a person's talk page onto his userpage. Thanks. Artix Kreiger (talk) 16:22, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Done. Steinsplitter (talk) 16:49, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Inactive bot account

[edit]

Hi. At Project:Requests/User rights/Removal of inactive bot rights (2) there is a proposal to remove the bot rights of inactive bots. Since you appear to be the operator of one of the bots in question, I wanted to draw your attention to the discussion. Please let us know if the rights are still needed (or if they aren't). Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 02:46, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Feel free to remove the flag. Best Steinsplitter (talk) 10:37, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

How we will see unregistered users

[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
