Welcome to!

Yes, welcome! This site is dedicated to documenting the MediaWiki software, the software behind many wikis, including that of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation projects.
Please, take a look at the following pages. They might prove useful to you as a newcomer here:

If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and find this site useful documentation of the MediaWiki software.

Technical writing[edit]

Welcome again. It's always nice to have more people working on documentation around here: good luck with the elusive job of technical writing! Let me know if you need practice with the translate extension. Marking pages for translation, or translating pages into other languages if you know any language beyond English (even Latin!), is a very effective exercise to practice plain English. --Nemo 07:37, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Thanks Nemo! I really appreciate your warm welcome and all of your contributions to the Style Guide! I will will definitely reach out with questions as time goes on! (Sorry I didn't reply sooner; I've been traveling a bit lately and am just catching up!) -- Sarah R.

Template:In progress[edit]

Hi Sarah,

I undid your changes to Template:In progress, since they made it very different from the previous version of the template and incompatible with existing uses of it (it's supposed to be a small icon, similar to Template:Done), e.g. on VisualEditor/Roadmap and many other pages listed on Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:In progress.

Instead I created a new template Template:Page in progress with your version. Please use that instead! I've already updated the page API:Main page to use it.

Hope you don't mind :) Matma Rex (talk) 23:21, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
