Extension:Quiz deletion requests.

[edit]

Hi Lrbabe. You have made several requests for deletion regarding Extension:Quiz, namely:

Can you please explain the reasons for deletion. I know that for /fr, you are the only author and cited the fact that you will be unable to maintain it. In this case it might be better to add a note to the top saying 'this page is not maintained by the extension author' (assuming that is you), or 'is not actively maintained' (if not), with a link to the English version of the page as 'the most up-to-date documentation'. In this way at least some info is available to French speakers. However, I will delete it out-right if you would really rather this course of action and see no benefit in retaining the current versions.

For the other pages, you are not the only contributor so I would have to consider these more carefully. Can you please state your reasons for deletion. You can reply here. Cheers --HappyDog 00:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

for /fr I see no benefit in retaining the current version.
for /de, the page contain only a link to the german help on the wikiversity. This link is now on the main page of the extension. Therefore I see no benefit in retaining this page.
for /Help, the page contains obsolete links and a link to the english help page on the wikiversity, wich is on the main page as well. The other questions have already been answered and are not any longer usefull.
The main reason of those deletions is to clean out this extension page.IMHO, on page to present the extension, on page for the discussion and links to the international help pages are enough. Regards Lrbabe 12:42, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Extension Quiz

[edit]

Salut Lrbabe,

Regards, I'm looking forward to hear of you soon.

Yours Sincerely.

Hi there - J2ME client for wikiversity quizzes coming soon

[edit]

Hi Lrbabe,

I'm the developer of Occleve - the Open Content Learning Environment. This is a J2ME quiz program which stores its quizzes in a wiki. It can download, store them, and run them offline. Having just found out about the wikiversity quiz extension, I'm now adding the ability to the J2ME client to download, store, and run wikiversity quizzes. So I thought I ought to touch base with you... See here for a few more details.

In particular, I'd like to add something similar to Occleve's XML language QA format to the quiz extension. Language testing really needs that level of structure, in my view. Check out the DTD for more details... and please let me know what you think about all this!

Regards, --Joe Gittings 13:34, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your reply! I've replied on my talk page, in order to keep the thread in one place.--Joe Gittings 13:02, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mobile editing coming soon

[edit]

Hi Cormaggio, McCormack, and Lrbabe... After a break, I'm doing another burst of work on the mobile phone software. The main new feature in 0.9.4 will be the ability to add new questions to a quiz and upload them back to Wikiversity... watch this space! --Joe Gittings 19:09, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
