• Usual features team meeting.
• Straightened out Kaldari's allocation, with others, he should be working more on UploadWizard until March 21.
• Wrote most of spec for Locator widget for UploadWizard. Dubious if we have time to integrate it now though. A bit more complex than I thought.

March 2, 2011

• Short phone conference with Mark Bergsma, Russell Nelson, Ariel Glenn on MediaStorage. Russell has gotten a lot of this working but is dealing with odd use cases (ungenerated thumbnails that happen to fall into the bucket designated for testing) that also may uncover weird bugs with Swift itself. I offered python help, Mark offered help using tcpshark to diagnose the issue. So, international debugging session in our future soon.
• Finished spec for Locator widget for UploadWizard. Emailed people to hopefully get a contract rolling. Should also be shown to Commons-L, maybe tomorrow.

• Not a productive day. Felt ill most of the time, should have stayed home or something.
• Tried to knock off bugs with the language stuffs in UploadWizard and so on.

March 4, 2011

• Short IRC meeting with contractor & Alolita to discuss contract, spec for Locator widget. He thinks his previous work isn't as relevant (and doesn't play nicely with jQuery) so we should write a widget from scratch. Still, estimates for time to do this widget are low, especially if we jettison the need for multiple mapping providers. We'll start with basic functionality on OpenLayers/OpenStreetMap.
• Tracking down obscure UploadWizard bugs that prevent a deploy to commons.prototype
• Deployed, but it looks too buggy to notify the community... assigned some small cosmetic bugs to Kaldari, keep plugging away on my own. Will check in again Monday.
• Attended Kaldari's preso on WikiLove
• Working on my own bugs, even.
