So... Whenever I try to translate something into my home language (Filipino), I am met with a white screen instead of the article, and the place to translate says "Start with an empty sentence." What happened here?

If Mediawiki wants, I can send them an image.

Hello @ItsMeGabeProductions,

I have tried translating an article from English to Tagalog but did not encounter the issue you mentioned. Maybe you can provide the following information if you are still encountering the issue:

  • Which article were you translating and to which language
  • Which browser did you use (Firefox, Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, etc.)
  • If you're getting any errors, please provide log from browser console if possible. To open browser console: press Ctrl+Shift+j (or cmd+alt+J () on a Mac); you can also provide a screenshot.

Thank you!

Hello @ItsMeGabeProductions,

Your initial translation option is currently on "Start with an empty sentence" to change and select a particular machine translation option. Click on the "..." (three dots you see beside the "Start with an empty sentence" ) to choose a translation option. Once you select any translation support options, you can see the machine translation; you will have to review and edit it to ensure the translation is accurate before you can publish.

But, the text in the Wikipedia article is gone.

Hello @ItsMeGabeProductions,

I can't reproduce this issue from my end because everything seems normal. I suggest you file a bug report by clicking on this link. Please follow the instructions in the link and add a step-by-step screenshot of what you see on your screen and how to reproduce the issue. Once you are done creating the report, share the link here so I can share it with the Language team.

Apologies I could not be of much help.
