I am logged in here, but i am not logged in Wikipedia. Why?

In a Wikipedia article, it is shown to me that I am not logged in. And when I try to login, I receive this message:

"There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Please resubmit the form. You may receive this message if you are blocking cookies."

I am not blocking cookies. I just do not use javascript enabled in this browser settings profile, but I have tried to enable it, and the problem persists. What is wrong??

Where is the edit button? I cannot see it.

Bricomsci (talkcontribs)

This is a structured discussion, which works differently than classic wiki pages and talk pages Wikipedia uses.

There is no "Edit" button for the whole page, just for individual posts.

{ { strike | So, there is no edition for each message we send here? } }

How should I code for a strike? This: 👆🏾, without extra spaces, worked just as a link to the "Strike" article in Wikipedia. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I just found it. It was invisible. I can hover a menu, but there is no indication there is something there.

test

I tried to add it for you, but had trouble with the editor.

Should something be done about it?

Bricomsci (talkcontribs)

You might find a place to ask about this in Help:Contents. I personally don't mind using the HTML strike tags.

Bricomsci (talkcontribs)

Yes, you can edit your messages.

Why my time signature with "Rapidim (talk) 18:24, 19 June 2021 (UTC)" did not work above?

Bricomsci (talkcontribs)

One does not have to sign messages on structured discussions, as user name and date are added automatically, as with comments on social media sites.

Maybe cross-domain cookies are deactivated in your browser, which are necessary for automatic login.

Rapidim (talkcontribs)

They are activated. But I use Wikipedia just in private windows.

Bricomsci (talkcontribs)

Possibly you have to activate it separately for private browsing.

If there is a feature named "tracking protection", "prevent tracking", or similar, that would need to be deactivated for this to work.

Rapidim (talkcontribs)

Wikipedia should not even need to use things that easy privacy attacks. I will not change it, and I will change this profile to not accept third part cookies (it was enabled just because I missed it). I will just stop editing wikipedia, then, if it does not change to what it used to be - or change to something that is compatible to this past.

Bricomsci (talkcontribs)

Third-party cookies have both legitimate uses and undesirable side effects, which depends on site.

You can still log in without third-party cookies, but you would need to log in individually rather than just once. It just is a little less convenient.

Rapidim (talkcontribs)

I do not mind logging in for each wiki project. But I am still unable to log in Wikipedia: "There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Please resubmit the form. You may receive this message if you are blocking cookies." (I just retried, since I changed several wiki settings yesterday).

Bricomsci (talkcontribs)

Consider enabling third-party cookies temporarily until a successful login.

Rapidim (talkcontribs)

I only want to use wikipedia in private windows. Having to change settings 2 times everytime is very bad.

If you first log into Wikipedia before this site after clearing cookies, does it work then?

Rapidim (talkcontribs)

No. I just tried. Same error. After the error, I visited the link received by email, about your question. It asked my login (it could not guess, of course), and password.
