also bdi tags are showing rather than being parsed.

seems like all system messages are being double escaped. Very weird.

Can you try disabling all extensions (except Cite) see if it still happens, if not, reenable one by one to figure out the culprit.

It is the Link_Attributes extension, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
