Topic on Talk:Content translation

For this article I created for simple from en, the species box cannot be auto translated as there are a lack of templates on simple. I need to manually create all the taxobox templates like this one. This is time consuming. Is there anyway for content translation to do an auto importing of taxoboxs. Just a suggestion, thanks for any response but I know this is hard.

Templates are complex to support since they are independently created on each wiki, and Content Translation needs metadata to be available in order to figure out which are the equivalent templates and parameters. Recently we have been exploring a machine learning approach to improve this process.

For this particular case, the equivalent templates are connected in Wikidata so Content Translation can find out which template to create in Simple English. However, template data is not available to describe the parameters. You can access the "manage TemplateData" button when editing the template in order to edit the template data for this particular template.

Having said that, even if the parameters could not be mapped, the template should be added to the translation; and I experienced also an issue when trying to reproduce this. So I reported a bug for further investigation.

Thank you for the in depth explanation. Appreciate it a lot. I will follow up on phab and I think it's indeed a bug. Typically I had no issue for taxobox translations.
