Topic on Talk:Content translation

I like how some of the things work, but citation transformation is the least helpful part. It would actually be more helpful if templates would be removed and transformed into an URL. That way I would be able to use the Visual Editor to transform URL into a more meaningful, elegant and easier to edit reference.

Templates were not created to easily work across languages, which is especially problematic with the plethora of templates used in each wiki to structure the information in references. we are working to improve the support for references, and improving the documentation for communities to provide the appropriate template metadata that would help Content translation to better map template information across equivalent templates.

For references based on a URL, we may consider how such URL can be used to generate a new reference in the target wiki, even automatically. Thanks for the suggestion.
