What is the difference between Extension:LiquidThreads and Extension:StructuredDiscussions?

StructuredDiscussions was based on the work on the third version of LiquidThreads.

That means LiquidThreads are outdated and will sooner or later be replaced with StructuredDiscussions?

(Asking for the sake of translating.)

Extension:LiquidThreads answers this already? It says "unmaintained", it says "cancelled".

"later be replaced" depends on each wiki's admins; cannot generalize. :)
