This seems like a good idea as technically the user has created the article as it was originally a redirect. Note the creation would be credited to the expander, not the redirect creator.

This is roughly what phab:T12331 is about, which is currently being discussed. If approved, it should be feasible to log page creations from redirects. As it stands right now this is not really possible. The Page Curation extension does log such page creations, but the data is only temporarily stored, and it's only available on English Wikipedia.
