Topic on Extension talk:VisualEditor

I have VE in my wiki project linked with Parsoid on Heroku. The data parses successfully according to the logs, and the changes apply successfully after using Visual Editor, which means that it's configured correctly, but each time I press "Save page", VE gives me "Unknown error" and doesn't display the results automatically. However, if I reload the page manually, I see that the changes have applied.

I've been searching Google for people with the similar issue but it seems that I'm the only one. I'm using MediaWiki 1.23.3 and the stable VE release for the 1.23 version + Parsoid extension for 1.23 as adviced. What do you think the problem might be? Thank you in advance for any help.

Same Problem. I have my own VPS server and installed VisualEditor by following the guides on MediaWiki website. the same thing happens for me too. it gives me "Something went wrong" - "Unknown Error" . but I can see that it's saved when I manually refresh the page.

were you able to find a solution for this problem ?

I changed back to the normal Cache and not the one you would activate when doing the Parsoid Cookieforward.

I get the same issue in visual editor but i think that the cause is different. In detail if i save a page with an external link i get the error message "Something went wrong" - "Unknown Error" . If I remove the external link I can save without problem.

Check, if zlib is installed on your server.

I just had this problem. There were no parsoid errors, but the apache error log said:

I turned off PHP notifications and that fixed it.

What exactly are PHP notifications?

I have the same issue with Visual Editor, but only when I enable a plugin called "SlackNotifications". It looks like the JSON being returned has the letters "ok" appended to the properly formatted JSON string.

This must be the issue with ReCaptchaNoCaptcha. ConfirmEdit and Visual editor along with ReCaptchaNoCaptcha = Big PROBLEM

I now have this error as well, got the Visual Editor version of the MediaWiki 1.35 release.

having this problem as well :( wish there was a reliable fix. PHP notices/errors are off, i'm using a discordnotification output, using file_get_contents. The common denominator here seems to be visualeditor. Not sure how to fix it...
