Preferences not being saved

For some reason, I can't change my preferences on mediawiki.org, though it works fine on any other MW site. When I do so, it reports that my preferences were saved, but they actually remain unchanged. I've checked that cookies are enabled, JS is enabled, I cleared the cookies, I tried the Restore to Default Preferences option, heck, I even changed to a different browser without any success. Help! Okay, I take that back. After a significantly-delayed reaction (15 minutes or more), the preferences have now kicked in and are updating live once again. Perhaps some short-lived server problem?

My best guess would either be database lag or something stuck in a cache somewhere. The latter is probably most likely.
