Template in a reference[edit]

Number 7 (and my addition number 8), the templates in a reference, do not seem to be editable?

For number 7, I get the popout inspector-tag, but it's blank inside (screenshot) and unclickable. For number 8, I don't even get the inspector-tag (screenshot).

Most references contain {{cite [format]}} templates, so.... >.<

I couldn't see anything in bugzilla. Is this a known problem? Quiddity (talk) 06:49, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hmm. That works fine for me (and yes, we're well aware of this being a crucial use case). What browser are you using? Do template dialogs normally work for you? Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 19:55, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'm using Firefox 21.0 on Ubuntu 12.04.
The templates on VisualEditor:Template test work fine for me (screenshot). However the same template at VisualEditor results in the no-inspector-tag bug (screenshot). Very odd... Quiddity (talk) 20:38, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hmm. That is probably bugzilla:49421, but the "inspector menu triggers but has a blank slot" one is new to me. :-( Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 20:41, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Number 7 works properly in Chrome.
Number 8 in Chrome, has the identical problem as number 8 in Firefox (no inspector-tag). Quiddity (talk) 21:17, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ah, yes, number 8 fails for me too - that's definitely bugzilla:49421. I've filed the issue on number 7 in Firefox as bugzilla:49781. Thanks for spotting it. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 22:33, 18 June 2013 (UTC)Reply
