Wikimedia specific?[edit]
The name suggest that this extension is Wikimedia specific? Is this a correct assessment or are there any means to make this working for interested third parties. - Yes, unfortunately. It doesn't actually store any page view data itself so it's not competing with HitCounters, it just provides views of the data that is provided by the Wikimedia Pageview API, which is why the extension is Wikimedia-specific.
