The extension Privacy provides users with a means to maintain their privacy and enables site maintainers to comply with the GDPR. It requires Extension:BlueSpiceFoundation to be installed.
Usage / features
[edit]It allows users to:
- Request anonymization: The requests are directed to a site administrator for approval. If approved, the user is anonymized by the system.
- Request removal: The requests are directed to a site administrator for approval. If approved, the user is deleted from the system with all their data.
- Retrieve all data stored about them in the system.
- Give and revoke consent to the privacy policy.
It allows site administrators to:
- Manage anonymisation and deletion requests.
- Get an overview of the privacy policy and cookie consent of all users.
Installation
[edit]- Add the repo url (https://github.com/wikimedia/mediawiki-extensions-BlueSpicePrivacy
.git) as a "vcs repository" and the package name (mediawiki/BlueSpicePrivacy) and version to the require section of your composer.local.json. Example:

- Run the following command in your MediaWiki installation path
composer update --no-dev
- Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php file:
wfLoadExtension( 'BlueSpicePrivacy' );
Done Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.
