Revision as of 18:20, 5 October 2009

"You don't have to be crazy to work here, but it helps."

This page serves as a central location for users to request commit access to SVN. Please note that just because you've listed your name here doesn't mean that you'll get access. Final approval for access still lies with Brion and Tim.

Quick warning -- we haven't established a schedule for looking at this queue yet, so don't be worried if it takes a while to respond. --brion 22:16, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Will be doing a pass through this list today... Will be a weekly review update thereafter, putting it on my calendar. :P --brion 17:58, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request format

Copy and paste the following text to the bottom of the list. Of course you can add extra information you think is relevant, but try to keep it simple and to the point.

=== User name ===
* Requested commit name: abcd[note 1]
* Expected area to work in: extensions, localization, etc
* [http://example.com link to public key][note 2]
* Past work on MediaWiki - patches, extensions, bug reports, etc[note 3]
~~~~ (signature with date)
 1. Commit names must be lowercase, not contain spaces, and use only ASCII characters. For example, instead of "Brion VIBBER", try something like "brion", "bvibber", "brionvibber", etc.
 2. You need to publish an SSH public key that can be linked to your SVN account, to authenticate you when you commit changes.
 3. A history of successful patches or extension work will improve your chances of getting commit access. You can link to a Bugzilla query of your bugs with Keyword "patch", which will always be up to date.
Completed requests
Generally when requests are completed, an announcement e-mail is sent to wikitech-l and the Developers page is updated.
This seems to do about the same as the PdfHandler extension; can you take a look and see if there are some different features in each that you might be able to merge into PdfHandler? --brion 21:10, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
MaxSem
 • Requested commit name: maxsem
 • Expected area to work in: SQLite support. Due to its present state, I strongly doubt that I'll break anything beyond what is already broken :D I have some ideas how to fix many of these problems, but submitting a huge patch and seeing it bitrotting, waiting for review isn't particulary encouraging.
 • public key
