Tagging articles for kids[edit]

Regarding the kid-friendly tag, I'm realizing more and more that this is going to be a really critical feature. I think it needs to be a tag that goes with an article. In principle, there are two distinct features, "kid-safe" and "kid-suitable", so preferably you would want to have a tag for each. Thus an article about an aspect of general relativity may not be kid-suitable (at least for most kids!), but it may be safe. On the other hand, there may be an article that is kid-suitable (say, about an animal) but not kid-safe for young kids (perhaps it goes into gory detail about how that animal is being brutally massacred and will be extinct soon). The absolute ideal would include the level for both safety and suitable, for primary or secondary school or college, but I don't want to be too pushy.....

As a minimum, we need to have a "For kids" tag, one per article. Thanks, Walkerma 17:49, 20 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Documentation[edit]

Hi! Nice job on all of this! Thanks so much for your hard and efficient work: things look like they are all crossed off and mostly ready to go! I am wondering if there was/is going to be a "Phase 6" of this, which consists basically of documentation? I'm envisioning "How to" guides about the tools, explaining (1) their purposes and (2) step-by-steps for how to find and use the tools. I am not sure where the location of said guides should be, but perhaps ultimately on the Offline_Projects/Tech_Development page. Screenshots, etc. showing the use always helps things!

In addition, (if I may be so bold as to request something else) I think a list of proposed future tools to develop from your perspective could be incredibly helpful! You've spent a lot of time on these offline tools, and you probably have some ideas for additional tools to which other developers could help contribute. Just a thought :) Jwild 21:20, 19 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi - do you have an update for us? We'd love to start using your new tool, if it's ready to go....!
