Category:Scribunto modules with errors[edit]

Could you please explain why you recreated this? As far as I can tell, per phab:T304381, even though the category is still defined in theory, it's impossible for it to actually become populated so the page has no reason to exist here. * Pppery * it has begun 13:24, 18 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I explained it in the edit summary but your explanation is better. —Uzume (talk) 14:24, 18 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

{{cite}} creation[edit]

Can I enquire why you created the template on this wiki as it doesn't appear to be needed, Also in future, you should use import instead of create to ensure you copy and bring over history as appropriate. P858snake (talk) 10:00, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

@P858snake: I created the template to align with the likes of {{Em }}, {{Strong }}, {{Kbd }}, {{Var }}, etc. which are all typing aids and semantic markup templates (and some WMF wikis also have a Category:Wikipedia XHTML tag-replacing templates (Q8900887) that is applicable but apparently not here). Are you suggesting those other HTML element templates are also not needed because one can directly type the HTML tags for them instead? You can find more information on the semantic meaning and usefulness of ‎<cite>...‎</cite> at w:HTML element#cite (which like {{Em }} is semantically more meaningful than directly using double apostrophe formatting for italics, etc.). It seems to me that something like {{=P }} would be less needed than the likes of {{Cite }} (and one can definitely directly type [[File:Face-tongue.svg|16px|link=|Tongue]]). How do I use import? It was my understanding that its use required specific rights which have been restricted from me (and most others by default). Are you proposing to grant me such (e.g. importers or transwiki importers)? —Uzume (talk) 11:01, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
