I am Bill Crews. I have learned wikitext by being the originator of the content of the wiki of a software product I use. I'm a learner, but not a newbie.

At the moment, my goal is to learn MediaWiki here, and to employ it in the wikis of others that grant me at least Editor permission.

In the future, I may install MediaWiki on my own device and set up one or more wikis of my own. I'd like to learn what's involved in doing that before starting to do it.

Also in the future, I may become a developer or other participant in projects. Again, I'd like to learn some about it before I join my first project.
