Checking IPs of some users for suspected socking
Hello SQL, I'm contacting you because I've noticed that you handle requests about use of VPN and proxies on Wikipedia. I would like to complain a set of editors who many other users and even admins have suspected of some sort of coordination, if not outright socking. These people show up to support each other on articles they never contribute to and even support in complaints against and harass their editorial opponents who they have disputes with.
A technical connection however hasn't been verified, but it's unlikely they aren't related in some manner. Can you please check their IPs to confirm whether they are in the same region since I read zzuuzz's comment on talk page of editor Adding the Truth that dynamic IPs don't always show the exact same location. Of course, I'm not asking to reveal their location. I also need you to check whether these accounts are VPN as SheriffIsInTown had raised this issue many months ago. If you say yes, I'll tell you their names. Thanks anyway. MonsterHunter32 (talk) 11:59, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
- So... I'm not a checkuser (I find myself saying this a lot recently). I wouldn't be able to tell you anything based on usernames. I'm sorry - I wish I could be of more help. Query me! 02:55, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
