LawExplorer (a/k/a Frank Taylor) served as a volunteer teacher of English as a second language during eight years of work as an editor for one of the big legal publishing companies, LexisNexis. The combination of those two experiences with travels in Latin America and explorations of English and other languages motivated LawExplorer to start his own project after the editorial job ended.

The pursuit of that project, Law Explorers®, has produced a number of happy discoveries, one of which is Semantic MediaWiki. Semantic MediaWiki offers a variety of possibilities for multilingual, multicultural perspectives that will facilitate comprehension of terminology and promote legal literacy, entrepreneurial literacy, data literacy, civic literacy, health literacy, and other literacies around our world.
