I have code in my GitHub repository, but I'm trying my best to find time and transfer into the Gerrit repository and take care about future maintenance.

Here is my GitHub repository, so you can try it out. Let me know if there are any bugs, I didn't find any so far.

I just used this on 1.38.2, you might need to update the readme to show the line in LocalSettings.php needs to be:

wfLoadExtension('NumberedHeadings');

instead of:

wfLoadExtension('MagicNumberedHeadings');

Thanks for the note, I'll have it in mind.

We also depend on NumberedHeadings. I believe that Miraheze (our provider) needs the extension to be supported and tested before they offer it to their clients.
