Adding signature when bulleted list is used

This reply tool is the best thing since sliced bread!! I use it all the time on Wiktionary. (Sadly it can't cope with the way we transclude monthly discussion pages to the main discussion venue, say at wikt:WT:BP.)

There is one issue I've found. Suppose I want to post the following comment using the reply tool:

Here is a quote I found:

  • "The mighty shall fall." (Perkins, A, 2004)

We could also use this one:

  • "The crumbs will be all that remains." (Simpson, L, 2009)

The reply tool adds my signature at the end of the last bullet point, that is, after "2009)". Instead I think it should add my signature on a separate line after the bullet point.

Let me just say this is something we've considered, and it works on many other pages with a similar setup, e.g. w:fr:WP:Le Bistro. I think it doesn't work on your page because you're using Template:discussion_recent_months to transclude them, rather than putting the transclusions directly on the page. If you substed that template, it would probably work. I assume you don't want to do that though, in which case, you'll have to wait for T259824.

It actually works that way in visual mode, but in source mode, so far we tried to avoid parsing wikitext, which would be needed to do that correctly. As a workaround, you can just type ~~~~ yourself in the proper place while using the reply tool source mode.

Ah, I didn't realise visual mode worked in Wiktionary - VE isn't available anywhere else on the site. Nice to know!
