Preloaded text in new article?

When a user press the button Create an article in the special page, is it possible to start anew page with preloaded text? A technique is explained in Manual:Creating pages with preloaded text, but I am not sure if this can be applied to this extension and in what way. Thanks

Eh, which special page precisely?

Lucamauri (talkcontribs)

Well, the Special:AboutTopic. Isn't this the only special page the extension exposes to the user?

It is easier to get at least the starting point precisely, rather than tapping as a blind man.

As far as I can take from the source codes, there are setter functions which may be utilized for particular properties. However, they are formatting the presentation only.

Basically, you could create such a mechanism of a self-writing article based upon Wikidata, but you do not need the ArticlePlaceholder Extension. You could prepare the template referred by preload file with an article structure and provide via preloadparams[] one parameter with either the Wikidata item ID or the connected name of the thing. The work to generate that source code and to derive current values from Wikidata needs to be done within that template or module. It should expand to wikitext with all expected values embedded where appropriate.

As of now, it is not possible to use the data from Wikidata in the new article, something we work on at some point! There is a phabricator ticket for this as far as I know, you can track the changes on that there :)

Thanks @Frimelle: , any chance you can give me the ticket number? It seems I can't find it myself. Thanks!
