Hi

I'm a bit lost on the right way to upgrade our MW 1.30 to the latest stable version (1.33 I guess).

Should I install the 1.33 release as a separate instance and then move my localsettings.php, extensions and medias folder ?

should I overwrite my 1.30 release with the new releae files ?

what about the database?

is the 130 ->1.33 considered as a minor version upgrade ?

Thanks, I know this page but my question was more specific about the 1.30 -> 1.33 upgrade please

As the manual explains:

• Do not overwrite old files with new ones. Always use a new empty directory
• Use the same database. run update.php on the new installation to apply schema updates

A minor version upgrade would be from 1.33.0 to 1.33.3 or whatever. 1.30 to 1.31 is a major version upgrade
