Suppress HTML, and Preserve Format, in Transcluded DPL?

The following DPL displays correctly on it's own page:

{{#dpl: linksto=Banana|columns=6}}

But, when transcluded to another page, the format is lost, and raw HTML is displayed:

|valign=top|

How to fix?
