My site is a futures' pedia site. I wonder how could I encourage the people to contribute to the site? It seems really hard.

It is really hard. It requires dedication, advertising and most of all just a lot of grunt work.
It's as hard as building any other type of community. So that's my advice, look into how you can build a community around your wiki.
