Hi everyone,

for my project, I need that the templates in the forms do a control on the data that the user inserts (synthax, format...).

For example, one info could be "16q23.4". Formatted like this, number(1-32)-character-number(1-32)-dot-number(1-32).

Is it possible to script the template to validate the format of the data like this? And maybe returning a message like "format not valid"?

Have you checked for regex related MediaWiki extensions? For example https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Page_Forms/Input_types/Regexp comes to my mind.
