Never mind, solved it myself. I have only used ancient versions of mediawiki up until now and didn't realize that footer links are now controlled by the skin.php file and not skin dependent.

I was wondering how to remove/add footer links with this skin? It could be really obvious but I haven't been able to find any information on it. I also tried adding footer links through the LocalSettings.php but that didn't seem to work as well. Is that normal?
