Topic on Talk:Compact Personal Bar

... That would be cool as I have lots of userspace pages that have massively long titles

Titusfox, interesting feedback, gadgets can add items to the flyout right now, do you mean allowing user to add custom links into the flyout (without using a gadget?)

Titusfox (talkcontribs)

Yeah, Basically. And also name the pages instead of having the full title for the page as my pages on Wikipedia are like User:titusfox/HMUBX/Stuff...

Also, Can't find any gadgets like that on en Wiki

I'd like to "+1" this request. I have additional links added to my user toolbar in Vector (by means of some AddPortletLink() statements in my common.js file). When I turn on the Compact Personal Bar, these additional links do not appear in the flyout. It seems to me that they should, or at least there should be an easy way to manually add them to the flyout. Please see this recent WP:VP/Tech discussion for more.

I should note that AddPortletLink() has apparently been deprecated in favor of the newer mw.util.AddPortletLink(); I just haven't gotten around to updating my file. In any case, it would be very cool if Compact Personal Bar could use mw.util.AddPortletLink() statements (presumably contained in common.js) to add custom links, because those links would then persistently appear in the appropriate place whether CPB is active or not.
