Hello all,

since a few months a weekly report [1] about events in the german-speaking Wikipedia and the Wikimedia-organizations is send to a few mailing-lists; I think that this is a very good idea and so I will try to establish something similar for the TS too (on monthly base). For the soon-ending April I wrote a short report below and I think we can all together write a report for May on a wiki-page [2].

Sincerely, DaB.

Report for April 2012[edit]

s2 and s6 corrupt[edit]

It was discovered this month that the databases of s6 [A] and s2 [B] are defected and will need a re-import. A dump of s6 was already requested on the 2nd April at the WMF, but no response yet. A dump for s2 will be requested soon.

s1 is back to normal[edit]

Both servers for s1 (enwiki) are back to normal [A].

Interwiki-Bot-MMP-rule is in charge[edit]

On 2 April the new "No interwiki-bos outside the interwiki-bot-MMP"-rule became relevant [A]. Because no MMP was created to that timestamp yet, the date was moved to 15 May [B]. Toto AzĂŠro started a thread about planing the MMP short time ago [C].

SGE-Update not successful[edit]

A second try to update the SGE to version 6.2u5p2 was not successful [A]. The import of the old config into the new system aborts every time. We need the update to include the new Linux-boxes.

Reminder of hackathon[edit]

Sumana Harihareswara reminded us about the Berlin hackathon which will take place in Berlin (Germany) in the beginning of June [A].

Wikidata started[edit]

The working on Wikidata started on 1 April [A]. This is not a real topic for the TS at the moment, but I am sure that plenty of tools will be created as soon as the project is alive.

DaB. added as TS-Announce-ML-admin[edit]

The WMF-techs added me as a admin for the Toolserver-announce-mailinglist so that I can add and remove people myself (before only River could do that). More people should be able to send important mails to that mailinglist in near future.

Until next month, DaB.
