I should have been more explicit: Not only should hacks/kludges obviously not go in the PD help section, I don't think they should go in the manual either. maintainble way to do this?[edit]

I'm interested in being able to do this, but as you pointed out it would be better if it was a more maintainable way to do it. Can anyone point me in the right direction or is it not possible? The instructions differed slightly from what was in my Linker.php file, probably because I'm a few releases back (1.10), and I haven't been successful yet in getting it to change the behavior of images in my MediaWiki. We're contemplating going ahead with the upgrade... this might be a reason to do it.

In searching more, it looks like 1.14 might have a way to accomplish this, simply by doing a Redirect back to the image itself within the page. Am I interpreting correctly? See Image Redirects
