Tạo tài khoản được thực hiện thông qua Special:CreateAccount. Có ba loại tạo tài khoản, mỗi có một cách ghi nhật trình riêng:
create— một thành viên tạo tài khoản riêng.create2— một tài khoản khác được tạo bởi một thành viên đã tồn tại.autocreate(up until MediaWiki 1.26) — a new account is autocreated using AuthPlugin. AuthPlugin has been superseded by AuthManager.
It is possible, through the configuration setting $wgGroupPermissions, to disable account creation or to limit it to sysops; see Manual:Preventing access#Restrict_account_creation (which describes how a sysop may create another user's account).
Constraints
There are many components which can limit account creation, including:
- $wgPasswordPolicy
- $wgAccountCreationThrottle
- Extension:TitleBlacklist - in this case, a "title" can be a user name
- Extension:AbuseFilter
- Captchas - provided by Extension:ConfirmEdit
Extensions
- Extension:ConfirmAccount - Requires an admin to confirm an account before its created
- Extension:New User Email Notification ― As of MediaWiki 1.39, necessary for administrators to receive an email notification every time an account is created
