Any user names refer to users of that site, who are not necessarily users of MediaWiki.org (even if they share the same username).

Mediawiki Developers[edit]

Are there any Mediawiki developers available that I can call/skype to review the overall approach that we are undertaking to better 'connect' Mediawiki to vBulletin? Five minutes may save days of digging through the code. :) If so, please email me or skype me at larryeitel. -- LarryEitel 17:29, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

If you haven't already, I suggest you join one of the Mediawiki mailing lists. The developers tend to hang out more there than on Meta from what I have seen. --Kingboyk 10:39, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

Are you looking to use a hack like this?[edit]

Would you like to compare notes? Please email me or skype me at larryeitel. Thanks! :) -- LarryEitel 17:29, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

Using vBulletin User ID?[edit]

Would it be possible to use the vBulletin User ID instead of the username? This would bypass the spaces and non-alpha characters issue. It would also prevent any problems when users change their account names in vB.

The user could log into vB and then the wiki could translate the normal vB username into the UID for login to the wiki.

Unfortunately I'm not a programmer, so this is waaaay beyond me, but I don't see how it wouldn't work. Any thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cihara (talkcontribs) November 25, 2006

Usernames[edit]

Is it not possible to make a quick hook which translates special characters in vBulletin to a format which agrees more with Wikipedia? Like %20 instead of space and such. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.48.169.249 (talkcontribs) November 26, 2006

WikiSysop account[edit]

By using this plugin, I can't login with the WikiSysop account. Is there a way to code a bypass so the login auth isn't passed to the vBulletin user table for this username?
