Unable to use HTML entities for hidesection messages
[edit]If I try to use ▼ and ▲ (▼ and ▲) for MediaWiki:Hidesection-show and -hide, the links don't work in Firefox. After clicking a hide link, for instance, the link is replaced with the entity text instead of the symbol, and the link doesn't work.
Pasting the rendered symbols instead of the HTML entities works fine. 71.36.99.196 (talk) 20:03, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

- Right, I understand.
- I know what's happening here -- it's getting double-escaped. There will probably be something like
data-hide="▼"in your HTML. - There's an obvious workaround. So what do you want me to do here? I guess I can unescape entities before having Mediawiki reescape here, but that seems like a kind of extra slowdown here. BrentLaabs (talk) 01:52, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
Can't find the extension for download?

Set Hide as Default
[edit]Is there a hook to set hide as default for a section (not all)?
If not, may we get one?
Cause hide by Section is way better than the for example Spoiler Extension, with Wiki Markup.
Is it possible to Hide only (H2) sections

Hide section as viewer. Autohide sections.

HideSection Extension Issue in Mediawiki 1.44.2

I have encountered while using the HideSection extension in Mediawiki 1.44.2.I have installed and configured the extension according to the instructions provided,but unfortunately,it does not seem to be working as expected.
Specifically,the sections in my wiki pages are not being folded as they should be when using the HideSection functionality.I have checked the extension settings and the syntax used in the wiki pages,and everything appears to be correct.However,the sections remain fully visible and do not collapse when the page is loaded or when the fold/unfold buttons are clicked.
I have tried to troubleshoot the issue on my own,but I have not been able to identify the root cause.I am wondering if there might be a compatibility problem between the HideSection extension and Mediawiki 1.44.2,or if there is some additional configuration step that I have missed.
Could you please provide some guidance on how to resolve this issue?Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated,as the ability to fold sections is an important feature for the organization and readability of my wiki content.
